3. Boys Who Like Girl(´s Jeans)
Gentlemen, please! If it suits your body type, then, fine, wear girl jeans.
But, don´t let it be so obvious. The trick is, you do not want girls, and in some cases, other men, to know you are wearing women´s jeans.
Exhibit A: Some people are very loyal to their favorite brands. Say you had gotten the first pair of Seven For All Mankind´s A pocket jeans, with the ¨A¨ embroidered on the back, or Victoria Beckham´s line for Rock & Republic (and those were hot), many a fashiony female would know you were rockin´ her coveted pair. Some girls may like this, but to be safe, stay away from uber-trendy girl jeans.
Exhibit B: a male friend of mine works at the Gap. I happen to be a female who shops at The Gap.
Me: ¨Those are cute jeans. They look familiar. Where did you get them?¨
Friend: ¨Oh, I got them at the Gap.¨
Me: ¨OMG… you totally have the same jeans as me! hahahahahaha.¨
Sound awkward?
Fit is everything. E-ver-y-thing. Keep in mind that girl´s jeans often have a lower rise, so the world might see your crack if you don´t accessorize with the appropriate belt for the occassion (more on accessories later). Also, the lower the rise on the jeans, the more of a bulge you will get in front. The slimmer the silhouette, ie, skinny jeans, plus the fact that they aren´t meant to fit your johnson, could mean some discomfort there. Unless that is what you are looking for..
Not to be sexist, just trying not to get you embarassed, because there is nothing wrong with wearing the opposite sex´s clothing if it looks good on you. There are menswear brands out there that make decently fitting jeans, you just have to look for them. Beware: they might be more expensive, so watch out for sample sales- an excellent resource for the stylish gentleman.
